Vivid Spectrum

Vivid Spectrum

A journey through colour and feeling.

We’re really excited to share one of our recent pieces with you, Vivid Spectrum. It’s a vibrant and expressive painting that measures 18 x 24 inches with a depth of 1.5 inches. Created using soft pastels and oil paint, this piece came together through a mix of emotion and play with colour.

When Emma began working on Vivid Spectrum, she didn’t start with a fixed idea. It was more about following a feeling, letting colours move where they wanted to go and allowing the shapes to emerge naturally. The result is a world that feels abstract yet familiar, a blend of bold blocks and softer, dreamlike details.

The painting is filled with greens, oranges, reds, and blues, all outlined with darker lines that give the forms a bit of structure while keeping things loose. On the left side, there’s a simple, peaceful face split between orange and blue. Eyes closed, it seems to be resting or reflecting, almost like it’s drifting through this colourful maze of emotion and thought.

Vivid Spectrum is all about contrast. Softness meets strength. Stillness meets movement. It’s both playful and introspective, and she wanted it to feel like a moment suspended in time, full of feeling, but open to interpretation.

Thank you for spending a moment with Vivid Spectrum. We’d love to know what you see or feel when you look at it, because we believe that art becomes something even more special when it connects with someone else.
